Things I made while I was a student at Nirma, photographed between 2018 and 2021. Five of them were photographed in one session on a Nikon D5600 on 23 October 2021. The PoP mould and the clay sphere were photographed on 14 November 2018, and the lamp on 5 July 2020.

Timber and steel

A hand-made three-dimensional tessellation in timber with mild steel plates between the pieces.
A 3D tessellation in wood, with mild-steel plates going in between the pieces. Hand made to a precision of up to 0.5 mm, by my own account.
A carved wooden block with three bone-shaped wooden pieces set into it, each marked with a sun, a red sun or a moon and stars.
A simple product carved out of wood, with moving parts. The small pieces are marked with a sun and a moon.
A wooden box with hand-chiselled finger joints.
A wooden box that demonstrates hand-chiselled finger joinery.
A wooden hanger with a thin curved arm, hung from a wire and holding a maroon T-shirt.
A flexible wood hanger with a detachable wing. It bends with the weight of the clothes hung on it.

Leather, bamboo and fibreglass

A cigar holder in buffalo leather and bamboo: a block with three drilled holes bound with cord, and a stitched leather sleeve below it, on a timber bench.

A mushroom-shaped lamp of fibreglass mesh and epoxy resin, glowing amber from inside in a dark room.
A lamp made in the FRP workshop with fibreglass mesh and epoxy resin, lit from inside.
A person sitting cross-legged on the floor at home, pulling yellow fabric around a cardboard tube, with a tin and a plastic tub beside them.
Making a composite at home, 28 March 2021. I have worked with FRP moulding and carbon fibre.

Plaster, clay, foam and paper

Two plaster pieces side by side on a pale backdrop, each carrying a tessellating pattern of hexagons and stars in low relief.
A PoP mould for making tessellating tiles, with a tile beside it. Stars and hexagons.
A faceted form with flat angled planes, cut from thermocol, standing on a wooden bench.
A polyhedron cut out of thermocol, an exploration of forms for lo-fi models.
A hollow sphere in red Morbi clay.
A hollow sphere in red clay from Morbi. It rings when you strike it with a stick.
A white papier-mâché form on a wooden bench: a rounded body with a curling tail, standing on a low pillow-shaped base.
A papier-mâché model for form explorations.
