The sprint’s Challenge 03 was activating the UNSW community. Our problem statement was that food goes to waste at events at UNSW while some students go to bed without a proper meal. Share-a-bite is a Share Food feature for the university’s own app that connects the two.

Staff with leftovers post them in three steps: what food, how many servings and where on campus; allergy information; and until what time it’s available. People on campus then get a notification, and a card with the servings left and a Count me in button.

We handed in a problem statement, the app flow, a sample notification and a hand-drawn circular-economy loop: event food, the user and compost, with sharing and reuse circling the user.
